What Is a Calm & Cozy Cat Wrap?
The Calm & Cozy Cat Wrap is a soft, supportive restraint tool designed specifically for cats. It gently wraps around the body to provide a feeling of containment while allowing our veterinary team to safely perform certain examinations or procedures.
For some cats, gentle containment can feel more secure than being held directly. The wrap can help limit sudden movements and provide physical support while still allowing us to work carefully and respectfully with the patient.
It is important to understand that the wrap is a tool—not a requirement. Not every cat will benefit from being wrapped, and we never want to use a restraint technique simply because it is available. We consider each cat’s personality, history, body language, and comfort level before deciding how to approach their care.
Why Can Gentle Containment Help Some Cats?
Cats are incredibly expressive, even when they are not making a sound.
A tense body, flattened ears, dilated pupils, tail movement, hiding, vocalization, or an attempt to move away can all tell us that a cat is becoming uncomfortable.
